The chemical or petrochemical industry requires the use and adapta- tion of materials and their joints into particularly corrosive environments in their applications, such as those manufactured in duplex stainless Steel (DSS). Robotic GMAW welding is one of the joining processes wi- dely used in the industrial sector to join metallic materials of different thicknesses and chemical composition, such as duplex stainless steels. However, it has been observed that the DSS welded joints present a challenges in their mechanical properties and microstructural cha- racteristics through joining processes, such as GMAW, when their ope- rating parameters are not adequately established, generating condi- tions in the welding quality. In the present investigation, parameters effect of robotic GMAW process through the temperature acquisition and heat input effect on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties in duplex 2205 stainless steel joints are analyzed.
